Is it weird for a 16 year old and a 55 year old to be friends?

I'm 16, my best friend is 55. Many of my friends think it's odd having such a difference in age but we really can connect. She lives just down the road from me and we see each other and do things all the time. Do you think it's odd having such a difference in age, yet we're such close friends?
We're not in a sexual relationship! NO! We're just really good friends.
