Is it weird for a 12 year old to dye their hair?

i kinda want to dye my hair but i dont know if im too young. one girl dyed her hair at my school and it looked really bad so i dont want it to end up like that. i dont want anything drastic just a little darker because my hair has all these different colors in it and it doesnt look natural
