It clearly states, "When couples who marry in Canada come home -- they will be as married as any people on the planet."
There are designated states that recognize "foreign same sex marriages" when they come from another country; like norway, netherlands, belgium, spain, or south africa. Those states are as follows: NY, RH, NM.....and of course, MA, CT.
However, Canada appears to be the exception to the rule. A Canadian same-sex-marriage is valid in all 50 U.S. states!
And many Americans have visited Canada just to get married and come back to the U.S.
U.S. & Canada honor each other's marriages.
and there is no residency requirement to get married in Canada. They can be from the U.S., have no intention to move to Canada, and get married there on any given notice.
