Today I went to court for a window tinting ticket (officer stated 15%). The officer stated that ALL tinting is now illegal in NY (not twisting words - this is really what he told me). As far as I knew 80% was considered legal for the rear windows in a four door sedan and the rear window doesn't matter as long as you have side mirrors. Removing the tint regardless, I'm just wondering what the actual laws consist of. Any information is appreciated. Google proved to provide no supporting information of what I was told by the officer.
