Is it street legal to have a chorme colored car?

Id like to paint my car chrome, Because it will look awesome. I want to know if its even street legal to have it chrome, Because it could be a very large distraction. So yes street legal or No?
 
I would check with your local DMV, Sheriff's office, or Police as they should be able to tell you if it would be illegal or not.

If you're not comfortable approaching your local law enforcement representatives, you may also call your local body shops, as they should be up to date on how dark window tint can be as well as automotive paint/finish, etc...they should be able to answer your question and what the legal requirements.

A car that comes to mind that is not chrome, but has a brushed stainless steel finish. This is the legendary DeLorean. See link below.
