On Wednesday of last week (Which was also the first day of my period) I started taking birth control. The instructions said that if I started taking them on the first day of my period I would not have to use a back up method (such as condoms). Does that mean that It's alright to have unprotected sex at the moment? Or do I still have to wait a while for the birth control to kick in?

I know, sounds kinda like a dumb question, but my boyfriend and I have been looking forward to not having to use a condom for a while. And I read somewhere that some birth control pills don't kick in for about 2 weeks, but that contradicts what the information on the pack of birth control is. (Oh if you're wondering, the brand is Loestrin24Fe) Please and thanks.

If your birth control doesn't work and you don't use a condom, just be prepared for a baby.

Abstinence is the only way to guarantee you don't get pregnant. What you do in the bedroom is up to you......just be prepared for the consequences of your actions.
