Is it safe to give credit card numbers to customer care executive of the same

credit card company? I am wondering if it is safe to give our credit card numbers (16 digits on the front ) to customer care executive of credit card company on phone? I know we are not giving 3 digits on back of the card but still is it safe to give the front 16 digits numbers?
I know our calls are recorded but what if they resign the that credit card company? can he or she misuse our numbers by any means ?
