I'm leaving for the Grand Canyon. 1st time! I'm trying to plan. Even though I leave this Friday. Weather/safety wise, is it safe to camp & go hiking at the Grand Canyon.

Are you planning on camping inside of the canyon or at a campground on the rim??
If you are on the rim then it's gonna be a little cold. Last year it snowed into the month of may. It can be done with the right gear, but prolly wouldn't do it myself. If you are camping inside of the canyon, then you'll be fine. It's much warmer at the bottom of the canyon. Usually 20 or so degrees warmer than at the rim, and nothing beats waking up inside the canyon. As for hiking, it's perfectly safe as well. There may be little ice patches on the trails for the first mile or so, but after that it's perfect. I hope you have fun, if you need to know anything else about the canyon let me know. I can even tell you how to get into the park for free. Just email me @ [email protected].
