Is it safe for a beta fish to live in a regular filtered tank?

or should it stay in its bowl with a plant, like it has been....

tempurature is the main factor here
 
Oh crap. I feel so bad for you right now. I can hear them gathering their hounds right now....XD The filter/no-filter with a betta is a (way too) big debate among aquarists. When it comes down to it, it's really a matter of personal belief. As for temperature, you should get a heater if you can't maintain the proper temp. Good luck. Brace yourself. =P
