Is it rude to ask your employer to switch the payroll cycle from monthly to bi-weekly?

This is an internship job that I just got offered and I really need the money to pay my bills each month, so if the payroll period is monthly that would make it very hard for me

can anyone tell me if this is rude?
+ I am planning on asking my employer through email because I don't start the job until June 2...is that even more rude or unprofessional?
