It was a wet and rainy day. I was on the way to my friends house to pick her up and do some errands. A lady in van way in front of me is going full speed and runs into two other cars at full speed. It's obvious they hit pretty hard because I see pieces flying everywhere. I try to stop and I start hydroplaning, eventually coming into contact with the lady in the van. Though at a very minimal speed and doing very little damage to my own vehicle and just scuffing her bumper. The person she hit directly was sent to the hospital in an ambulance and the person in the very front only had a minor scratch on their bumper.
After everything was said and done it turns out I was the only one that got a ticket for "failing to avoid an accident". I never had a say in the matter and the highway patrolman in charge never even took a statement from me. And now the insurance companies of every person involved in the accident are targeting me directly. The lady in the van even had the gall to say that I pushed her into the accident saying they were all already stopped. (Yes... my little hatchback pushed your minivan into the cars at such a speed that it obliterated your entire front end.)
Anyways, the damage was clearly not my fault and I'm being falsely accused. Is there anyway I can fix this? Thanks.
