...military discount on movie tickets? Sorry, I wasn't sure how to add details to my original question. The issue is with a friend who is NOT in the military but works PART-TIME at a Child Development Center on base. She starting showing her civilian ID to movie theaters that are NOT on base and telling them that it was her military ID. I checked with the theaters and they only give discounts to MILITARY personnel and their spouses. I am a military spouse and am very offended by her actions. I believe that she is misusing her card and it states right on the card that any misuse of the card is punishable by law. She's a preacher's daughter for crying out loud! She really should know better than to take advantage of businesses this way. Any thoughts?

She's a disgusting waste of food and oxygen

Is there anything you can do? Not really, but you can fill in the people where she's using it about the differences in ID cards and tell them what to look for so they deny and embarrass her.

I don't think a few dollars off a movie ticket is a big deal. With the prices theaters charge, it's nice to hear they're being taken advantage of for a change. I doubt the punishable "misuse of the card" includes movie discounts. She's not duping the VA and collecting a GI Bill, so I don't see what the problem is. She's doing a good service for military members' children. Leave her alone.
