Am painting walls that have not been painted or washed in over 7 years. Have tried washing them but not having much luck. I was told I could do away with washing walls if I were to use a high quality paint with a primer combined. I have bought Behr paint with the primer but am hesitant as to continue without first trying to wash walls. Pretty pricey paint to waste if unwashed walls are going to cause bleed through, cracking, peeling etc. Any pro-painters out there I would love to hear from you.
Is it really a necessity to wash walls before painting them?
