Is it proper to place military awards, medals and badges on a resume in general?

Or for a security position? I served in the military and earned a few medals and stuff, namely in Iraq. I'm out now and recently I made a resume and was wondering if I should include them or not. There has been a few jobs in my area that offer a lot more money than I am making now in security and I'm just curious.

Yes, definitely put it in there. Leave off the Good Conduct and other 'automatic' awards but include things like Letters of Commendation.

Rule of thumb is to include any award, medal, letter or service record entry that lends testimony to your good character.
