Is it possible to walk through a bad area at night and not get attacked?

I live in Miami, FL and was wondering if it is possible. Or is it like a guaranteed thing that if an average young white/hispanic man is walking through bad neighborhoods, like Brownsville, Liberty City, or O-town at night, he is going to get jumped, robbed, or killed? Say he's you typical looking guy with a fade haircut, a black hoodie, and no bag or anything which might attract robbers. Is it possible, he could just walk on by minding his own business and not get catch any trouble from anyone? I did some community service last year where we went into Liberty City at night (on a school bus) and went to a couple of different houses and delivered Christmas gifts. It was pretty weird being there at night and I was just wondering about this. Also, what steps could a person in that situation take to prevent trouble. Is he more or less likely to be killed or beaten if he tries to defend himself or run away if a situation should arrise? Just wondering if anyone could give me some info on the topic. Well, thanks.
Yeah, but if you drive through, then you risk getting your car jacked. That's why I was talking about walking through, and not having anything that is worth jacking. I mean what would they do to you? Try to rob you, you tell them you don't have anything, and show them your empty wallet, and Walmart brand clothes. What would they do? Maybe beat you up? Don't really see why they would kill you in that situation.
What if it was a big cockdiesel looking guy (6'3" 240 lbs), walking around shirtless during the day? Would they still attack him?
