Is it possible to use Facebook for Blackberry app without a data plan service?

I have a Curve 8520 on OS 5.0. I'm on prepaid and I don't have BIS. I'd like to use the Facebook app so if there's some other way to do this, please tell me. Thank you!

*Yes, I can open Facebook on the browser. But, I'd also like the app to work.
