Is it possible to sprint with no ACL in track?

I had an ACL reconstruction about a month and a half ago, things went south and my knee got infected, and as a result I had to have my replacement ACL graft taken out. It'll be another 6 months until I can have another ACL surgery, but my doctor and physical therapist told me I would be able to do track. However, that may be limited to relays where a runner is allowed to ease into their sprint, as opposed to single races where runners start in blocks. So basically; am I going to be able to go from still to sprinting without risk of any other injuries in my knee?
