I've just bought my HTC Desire Android phone (just the regular one) and am quite amazed at what it can do.
I am quite an avid Japanese anime/manga addict and also a Visual Novel player and am quite interested to know if it is possible to find any form of emulation or alternate OS that might be able to play a visual novel on the go or if it is even possible to run that on the phone at all due to hardware specifics.
A typical Visual Novel will require the following minimum requirements to play on a Windows OS (Non-high end 2010 game requirements)
OS - Japanese Language Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7
CPU - Pentium 500 Mhz and above
Memory - 128MB and above
HDD space - 5gb and above
Sound - Direct Sound or alternative
Screen resolution - 800x600 x 16bit High colour and above
Requires mouse and keyboard. Also requires Directx5 and above
By hardware statistics wise, it does seem that the Desire is able to cope with the requirements, however i am hardpressed to find anything that can allow me to play them on the go. I would greatly appreciate any possible ways to allow the phone to run these games.
