pharmacy environment? We recently moved to a (very!) small town. My husband relocated for a job. There are very few business/office establishments in this area (about 5: independent insurance agents, 1 doctors office, 2 lawyers and a CPA as far as I can tell). The rest of the businesses are drugstores, grocery stores or a department store. I'm looking to work to add some extra income but daycare/preschool hours here are only Mon-Fri daytime and once our son is in school I will only be able to work during school hours also.
Is it possible to work somewhere like CVS Monday through Friday daytime only? I'd be able to work anytime between 7am-5pm. I worked at WalMart (way back in high school) and I remember them preferring people who could work evenings/weekends (busier times). I just don't want to waste my time filling out a bunch of applications just to have them thrown out or be told I won't be considered because of my availability.
If not, does anyone have any suggestions as to what types of businesses could work with a 'mom' schedule?
For frame of reference: We used to live in a city where my skills were welcomed. In a small town, noone is interested in the fashion/beauty industries.
I may end up going back to school during the day for a different degree once my son is in school but the nearest community college and university are an hour+ commute so that isn't feasible at the moment and neither would getting a job in that city (the money for gas and extra hours of child care would eat up the salary).
