Is it possible to paint acrylic paint over a white gloss paint.....?

I have just started to paint the wooden side of the bath and I was thinking of painting on templates of sealife to liven it up a bit. But I was wondering if it is possible for me to use acrylic paint over gloss paint?

Gloss should be primed, sanded, and/or roughed up a bit before painting over ... otherwise the acrylic (or any other) paint will not adhere well.

What you could do is apply a high-adhesion or marine-grade primer in just the areas you wish to paint with acrylic ... or use a matte-finish acrylic varnish/sealer on those areas before painting and then a few coats of glossy sealer AFTER adding your designs.
