Is it possible to not enjoy sex?

my girlfriend told me that she did not like sex with her ex but with me she loves it...i have a hard time believing that she did enjoy it before...i trust her and believe her but there is always doubt in my mind...has anyone else experienced this? if not then leave your thoughts
