My girlfriend has not had her period yet this month and we are worried about an unplanned pregnancy. She is about 9-10 days late. We are both still very young and sexually active and have always used a condom each time in combination with the pull-out method before my ejaculation. She is not on any birth control pills. We have tested using the First Response at-home pregnancy test and each time came out negative. The last time we tested was 6 or 7 days after when her usual period happens each month.
Is it possible that she missed her period because is not ovulating this month?
What I am really leaning toward is that she has stopped a physical activity she has stuck to. She has been playing softball for a few months now consistently every weekday or so. She is now on Spring Break, therefore no practice or games for over a week. Could this be a possible explanation on why she didn't have her period yet, instead of the possibility that my condom was defective (even though they always have a tiny risk of that)? Would going back to her regular routine regulate her body and get her back on track?
Thank you for the serious help.
