Is it possible to hook my TV up to my computer?

I want to hook up my TV to my CPU so the tv functions as the monitor.

However, my tv is old. It has one set of holes, yellow and white. My computers old too. (about 4 years, the tv is much older.)

Is this possble? what should get to make this happen?

if not, would it be possible to do it with a new TV? what would I be looking for in a new TV?
 
Before you do this, try setting your computer resolution to 640X480. This is about what your TV will look like. Maybe a bit blurrier. Even if you go out and buy a 1080p HD TV and connect it via VGA/DVI/HDMI, it will still not look as good as a decent computer monitor but you might be able to live with it.

You are trying to send a digital signal from your computer to an analog TV set. It will not work without several adapters. Go to a GOOD computer store and talk to a KNOWLEDGEABLE salesperson there.
