Is it possible to convert my old TREK 930 into a single-speed bike?

I want to know the easiest and cheapest way to convert my TREK Single Track 930 into a single-speed bike, since its days of climbing roads are gone, and today is only a great commuter for flat areas, but I want take off as much weight as possible... As you know, is a 21 sps model with a very nice Chromolly frame...
