Is it possible to be addicted to FISHING?

This is one of the few addictions that are worthwhile, escpecially since you're in a situation where it seems that you're not the only one dealing with the addiction. If fishing were an escape from the wife and kids, it could be a problem, but since they seem to share the addiction (or at least are being exposed to it in hopes that they grow up to share the addiction), all is good...

Trouble comes when one is addicted to fishing as an escape from the people they spend their lives with... being an addicted fisherwoman myself, I've been in relationships in the past with addicts who were solitary... I'm a social user, myself, while I fish alone from time to time, I prefer having a little company, which I have whenever needed now, and I'm working on getting the next generation addicted as well...

"Hi, my name is Carly, and I'm an addict."

It depends, really. Do you ever catch anything? If you catch fish, then yes, you're addicted. If you don't, then you're just plain crazy.

I fish whenever possible. My wife is the same way. Every time we go fishing, we have to get 4 kids ready for the heat or rain or cold. I fish before work, after work and on my days off, basically almost every free minute. Are we addicted?

Yes. make sure you watch Intervention next week on A&E. They got me jumping butt naked in the lake covered in Berkley Gulp spray with crank baits hooked to my fingers and ears. Just kidding I just like to fish as much as I can. I work 3rd shift and I go from work to the lake as much as I can. If it is an addiction consider it a positive one. Some dads are at the bar or strip clubs, online looking at porn or blowing the mortgage payment playing online poker. I think about and thank my dad every time I go fishing or camping.
