is it possible for the chevrolet theatre (concert venue) to block my cell phone?

is it possible?
how would they do that?
i tried texting once during a concert and it woudlnt let me.
they have this big screen that can play the texts and i tried texting it (ive been to a concert there before and texted on the screen before) and it wouldnt let me send it. I'm wondering if they think i sent something offensive and i'm wondering why it didnt let me send anything.
 
thats weird but i dont think so...but maybe. that or its your phone dude. :) hope i helped.
