is it possible for me to be a high school teacher with a social science degree?

i am a freshman in college and basically my Councillor choose my degree plan to be social science but i want to be a high school teacher .... is that possible with social science degree?
 
It depends on which part of the world you reside.

If you live in Australia, to become a teacher, you need a Diploma in Education.
To become a high school teacher, you probably need more qualifications.

Why don't you contact the Department of Education and find out what the requirements are?
