Is it possible for a private school student to spend a week in a public school?

I've been a private school student for 12 years now, and I was wondering if it would be possible to spend a week (or even a day) in a public school, just to see what it's really like.. Basically, I want to see what's "fact or fiction" and to add to my life "experience."
