Is it possible for a home pregnancy test to come back negative if I was

about 3 months pregnant? Does the Hcg stay in your system right thoughout pregnancy? Coz i have all pregnancy symptoms besides missed period (but mine are irregular anyways) and ive taken a preg test today and it saidf Negative, i havent had sex for about 3 months..... so is it still possible?
