Is it possible for a fish to drown?

While it may seem to be an impossibility, Fishes can look what seems to be drowning especially if they become lodged or stuck in a position that prevents them from breathing through the gills. Actually it's more like suffocating than drowning. Fish use their gills to filter out oxygen from the water so, if they can't do this, they'll drown.
