I've been browsing pictures of living rooms for ideas. Several of the pictures I ran into had a dominant color (purple, for instance) on an accent wall or something similar but then there were accents (throw pillows, vases, frames, etc.) in other shades of purple: lilac, magenta, fuschia, purpleish blue, etc. around the room. I figure it's okay to do this, as long as I know how to pull it off, right? Any suggestions?
Is it okay to have different shades of one color as decor in a room?
