Is it okay for a guy to buy avril lavignes telecaster and not look gay or girly?

im a fan of lavigne. Im also a fan of John 5 but i heard bad things about his telecaster with the pickups and stuff and it sounds like a waste of money. Is lavignes any better than john 5's?
