I was a school sprinter, and then injured my knee during a gridiron game. The injury caused sufficient damage to the cartilage in my right knee and i haven't been able to do much running or play any contact sports since. It's been about 4 years since my injury and i've been taking Glucosamine and Fish oil for some time now. I'm now 21 years old and I i'm a healthy diet and regularly excersising at the gym combined with low intensity cardio. What i'd like to know, if there's someone with the same kind of history or injury, would it be ok for me to get back into sprinting about once a week/fortnight? My knee has felt ok for a while now though it still makes a crunching noise when i extend it (gross i know). I'd like to get back into sprinting as i use to do it on a regular basis and it's always felt like a great way for me to keep fit.
Any professional advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
