...to just the groom? I have a gift for the couple, but I don't really know the bride that well. The groom is one of my very close friends, and I would like to give a second gift of lesser value that is just for him. Has anyone heard of this or done something similar? Or, is this not acceptable wedding gift etiquette?
Just an added note here that I am married and have been for several years - just want to put that out there for those of you answering that seem to imply that it would be bad to give him a gift simply because I am a woman. This is a couple that my husband and I hang out with together, so there would be no issues of that particular nature. Also, in respect to timing, we waited a couple weeks after the wedding to send them there gift, so it is not like I am showing up at the actual wedding with a gift only for him. Finally, the gift that we want to give to him, she would probably end up enjoying as well. Any of these details make a difference?
