Is it ok to feed a betta fish every other day? How about not feeding it for 2 days?

I have a pet betta named (bubbles) he's very strong and healthy you can tell by just looking at him. :) I feed him every day and he turned out very strong, but he has gone without food for more then 1 day, once 2 and a half. :) Yeah just don't forget to feed him the next day alright?
