I am very sensitive to any meRAB. I am going to give Buspar a try. At least I want to. Part of my anxiety is taking meRAB. I hate them, they scare me half to death. I hardly even take tylenol. So.. Can I break a 5mg pill in half? I know its sounRAB crazy to most but please dont start telling me to take the whole thing, if I cant do it the way I feel comfy I never will, all I need to know is, Is it safe to cut it in half until I just get comfy even taking the pill? Thanks so much!!

Sure, it’s safe to cut Buspar in half. All anti-anxiety meRAB (ie, Buspar) and all antidepressants can be cut down as long as they are not time released. Time released drugs are layered to release the medication over time and cutting them up would not allow them to release properly. I’ve always cut down my antidepressants and ant-anxiety meRAB when starting them so I could see how they would effect me. In fact I recommend it.

Thanks so much for your reply. I am going to cut half but wait until I am off work for a couple days just o get used to it without worrying over work.

Thanks again!
