Is it ok to change the context of a monologue for an audition? I am auditioning for my school play and I found a monologue from the Wizard of Oz. In it the Cowardly Lion is talking about what courage is? In the play he didn't have courage and thats why he was talking about it. I want to change the context and present the monologue in a confident way from a different character's point of view. Doing it this way allows me to show off my positive attitude and energy. I am going to tell them that I got my monologue from the Wizard of Oz. Since everyone is familiar with the movie will the teachers and people I am auditioning for care that I changed the context?
