I think that the message of Easter is more focused on the joy of Christ's Resurrection and his promise of eternal life in Heaven.
If your kids understand that Christ was innocent and died for all ,then I really can't see what making them miss some joy with their cousins is going to do for them.
If this is a special outing with the family and they would not have that opportunity just any time, I would let them go.
