I've had my canary for about a year now and I've noticed that she's been chewing and eating the newspaper that lines her cage. I used to think she was just bored and tired of being stuck in her cage so I started letting her out so she can sit next to the window. At first she stopped but now she's begun eating the newspaper I set on the windowsill too. I was wondering if this is normal or if I should find something else to line her cage with because the ink on the paper may be toxic for her.
Is it ok for a canary to eat newspaper?
