You see we're not private paying patients, we are in Ireland and have asomething called a "medical card" so we don't pay - the State pays a doctor a flat fee of x amount per year for medical card patients no matter how many times they need to see a doctor or not. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medical_card Mature students and the unemployed are entitled to such medical cards. Those on low incomes also get what I think is called a "Doctor Only Medical Crard" - that covers doctor visits only - not medicines etc.
