Is it normal for my african grey to keep on eating ?

i dont know if this is normal or i should control how much food i put in the dish for my african grey.everytime i put food in his dish he will start eating and he will keep on eating for example half an hour later after i put the food in the dish he will still be eating is this normal ? recently its 11.14pm in singapore its night time and i am going to sleep so i just put some food in his dish he ate some seeds and now he is full i guess.I am new to taking care of a bird i am not sure thats why i am asking.
 
Thats good you ask. Control the amount of food daily. Depending on the size of the container I usually refill only twice every 8 am and 6 pm thats it finish or not.
