Is it normal for my 6 year old to complain about pain in her gum.?

I think it's a new molar coming out.It looks a little red & swollen.It's way in the back.It's only on one side on the bottom teeth.
 
Three possible theries.

1. She is most likley getting a molar. It shouldn't hurt too bad though, unless it is a big one. I remember when I was six they did hurt pretty bad though.

2. Sometimes kids get little bumps that sting a little in their mouth from putting dirty fingers in there.

3. A new set of teeth is pretty likely.
