Is It Normal For Bettas To Lounge At The Bottom Of The Tank?

I just got a new Betta about 7 hours ago, and I put it in the tank and he swam for a while....but now is just hangin out at the bottom by the gravel.
Is this temporary, because he is adjusting?
Or is it permanent?
Is he stressed?
How do I get him to come up, if he's not hungry?
Or is he sleeping?
Ik he is alive, his fins are moving.
Help!?
 
Let him settle in. He should get better. Make sure your tank is heated 76-82 degrees.

How big is your tank? If it's smaller than 2.5 gallons than there's your problem.
 
because he's new he could be stressed

but my betta fish have always slept on the ground at night

if you havent already, add water conditioner and aquarium salt to the tank
