My wife and I are now financing a 2012 Honda Accord. Neither one of us has ever owned a honda so im not sure if its "a honda thing" or what. In the morning when i start it up it idles at 1500 rpm. seems a bit high but that's probably normal, it drops down to around 11 then 9 after a min or two. My main concern is when i'm at a red light or just stopped without any a.c. or heater, only the load from being in gear, it seems to idle around 500 rpms and rough. back massage rough. Also when i back out of my parking spot and put it in D from reverse then proceed it gives off a fairly loud 'tick'. Even when doing the whole back out, take off procedure slower then normal. I took it into the dealership and they said the tranny tick is a mechanism you can hear in the cabin and the rough idle is from the load of the transmission being in gear. It just seems like its a little on the rough side for a brand spankin new vehicle. My wife and some of my buddies do agree. I had them note it so if something f-s up later its on the records that it was a concern of mine at 300 miles. Its got as of now just under 800 miles on it and from what the tech said at honda "Hondas dont have a break in period" I dont drive my car like a racecar or anything and if its running like this now with less then a thousand miles, whats it gonna be like with 60k on it.
