Is it necessary to use the clutch when changing gears on a dirt bike?

I have been riding a lot and sometimes I don't have a lot of time to pull in the clutch or other circumstances. Is it safe for the engine? Will it cause any harm to the dirt bike?
 
ya you do need to pull in the clutch not all the way but just a lil bit it can cause big problems.
 
i never use my clutch when changing gears and i havent had any problems with my tranny.
 
yes, you must squeeze clutch to shift, fool. Otherwise you burn up transmission, fool. It do many harms to motor if you no do. What, you think you too important, to busy to clutch the clutch. I never to busy to clutch the clutch...and I race to best.
