Is it necessary to throw out any belongings that have been in an environment with...

...non-toxic mold? There's been a heavy amount of mold spores in my apartment ever since the original mold site in the carpet was disrupted. And I mean "heavy amount" as in, if I set out a dish of water, there will be grey fuzzy stuff growing at the bottom by the end of the day. Everything smells musty, and I get frequent sore throats and headaches when I'm here.

I tested the air with one of those mold test kits (don't know how reliable those are) and it indicated there were several different types of common molds, but no toxic mold apparently. Regardless, I'm still wondering if it's necessary to throw out any belongings I've had here when I move out to avoid transferring mold spores, or if the lingering mold spores would be relatively harmless in the long run.
