Is it my heart?

Hi. Last night when I went to bed, my chest started aching on the left side very close to my shoulder. Then, my arm started aching and my hand felt heavy, almost tingly. Today, still have a dull ache by the left shoulder, but that's the only symptom really. I am a 36 yrs. old woman and overweight with a family history of heart problems. I know I should probably go get checked out - duh! I was wondering if it could something else besides my heart. It could be nothing I suppose. Any help would be appreciated. This is kinda scary:(

Please don't ignore the symptoms. Get to your doctor immediately and get checked out. Let's hope it is something harmless like a pulled muscle, but don't fool around when it could be the heart.

Women's symptoms are often different from a man's with heart problems. I kept brushing off some shoulder and back pain. Then my teeth started aching... before I got to the hospital, I had already had 2 heart attacks.

Listen to your body.. whatever it is stemming from, the body is giving you signals that something is off kilter.

Hi, dido to shannonrainy's comment! If this pain is something new for you then you need to go to the doctor or ER ASAP. I hope you're feeling better.
