the grand scam called texting? Texting - around 150 characters more or less each text, costing a huge amount unless you have a texting plan and even if you do, still costs a lot. A pain in the ass to try to talk to someone with the size restraints. Look like an idiot and shorten ur texts for the sake of saving $?
or.. is it more cost advantageous to buy an internet plan for your phone and just email people.. assuming the people you email check their email with some personal device.
