Is it mentally sick to chat on the internet even though you are not a pervert or

not trying to harm anyone? Since there wasn't enough room to ask more what about role playing a character on the internet is that mentally sick even though your purpose isn't to harm anyone but to make friends?
 
I think care needs to be taken. You may alienate people because of your behavior, even if it isn't perverted in nature. You may also offend someone by your behavior if it hits a little too close to home.

FYI: Not sure what the person above me is saying about RPing being lying. Gee, well, in that case, you shouldn't watch TV or go to a play, because those people are lying. RPGing is acting. Only problem is, with everyone being kind of paranoid about who is on the other end, you need to approach how you play your character with caution.
