Is it me or is Deb Morgan on Dexter annoying as...well you know what?

She seems so selfish and she doesn't care about anybody else..Its her way or the high way. Plus she is so dramatic its crazy.

Is it because she is the polar opposite of Dexter, Dexter is reserved and isolated while his sister is definitely not..
I wonder if the writers meant to do that.
